The Savage Rose

The Savage Rose began from the musical mind of Thomas Koppel (piano) with the help of his younger brother Anders Koppel (organ) and older sister Lose Koppel (soprano vocals) in 1967. Initially and acoustic trio, they made the leap to electric instrumentation after Lone left; Thomas added his wife Ilse Marie Lanser-Koppel (harpsichord) and recruited Jens Rugsted (bass), Alex Riel (drums) and Anisette Hansen (lead vocals). They’re first single was a hit in Denmark, their homeland, as well as performing well in various countries in Europe. Anisette with her distinctive multi-octave Lolita-esque voice quickly became the face as well as the voice of the band, while Thomas (music) and Anders (lyrics) provided the band with new material.

Never a major player in the European rock n roll scene, The Savage Rose still managed a string of albums that gained appreciation by critics while performing well enough in sales to allow the band to continue as recording artists. Ilse Marie was dropped from the line-up by the fourth album (1971) and eventually the couple would divorce. Still active to date, the band had a string of reconfigurations over the years with the core center being Thomas, Anders & Anisette. Anders Koppel left Savage Rose in 1976, while Thomas and Anisette, now lovers, continued with the band; eventually marrying and having children together. Thomas Koppel past away unexpectedly during a vacation in Puerto Rico in 2006. After a five year hiatus, Annisette Hensen-Koppel reformed a new Savage Rose and has been touring and occasionally releasing albums.

This compilation focuses on the first part of their career spanning the years of 1968-1971. Conceived, compiled and concluded in Mar 2019. All files are wav with only two songs @320.

David Bowie

When asked, Bowie said that his time in Tin Machine showed him he should focus his career more towards experimentalism. In October of 1990 he meets Somalian model Iman Abul Majid with whom he would fall in love and marry in April 1992. The couple would have child, Alexandria; and stay together till the end of his life. Under new contract with RCA, Bowie reconnects with old partners recording a song with Mick Ronson and later an album with Brian Eno. Bowie continues with his occasional incursions towards acting, taking part in the movie ‘Basquiat’ playing the part of Andy Warhol. Tours the world once again and adds elements of techno, jungle and drum n bass to his music to great effect. So much so that now a younger generation begins to pay attention. This compilation was created in Dec 2017. All files are wav.

Steve Vai

Discovered by Frank Zappa, the still teenager Steve Vai was called by Zappa ‘The Little Italian Virtuoso’. After appearing in the movie Bill And Ted’s Bogus Journey, he became known for a short while as ‘The Devil’s Guitarist’. More then stunts, Steve cannot only play the hell out of a guitar but he can compose some wicked guitar instrumentals. I saw him live in the nineties a number of times and knowing what to expect I was still blown away every time. This compilation was created in Nov. 2013. All files are wav.

The Eric Burdon Compilation – Vol. 2

Pairing with a previous posted studio recordings of Eric Burdon, we have here the compilation of live recordings. Two CD’s worth of live performances spanning most of his solo career. Although all files have pretty good to great sound quality, I was unable to find every excellent performance at high bit rate. This compilation was conceived and created in Aug 2013 with Disk 2 added and finalized in Jan 2018. Mostly @320, we do have various bit rates with lowest @192.
